BAD hair, neon clothes and most importantly classic tracks that went down in music history - it's Southampton's own celebration of the 80s.

Let’s Rock Southampton is back next month for it's third annual visit to Southampton Common (July 9) and this year is a cracker!

Revellers will be dancing to the sounds of former Frankie Goes To Hollywood lead vocalist Holly Johnson, heartthrobs from the era Rick Astley and Jason Donovan, Grammy Award winners Soul II Soul, Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift and former teen icon Tiffany.

Also on the bill are Scottish rockers Big Country, 2 Tone ska revival band The Selecter, Eurovision favourites Sonia and Cheryl, Mike and Jay from Bucks Fizz, plus chart-topping Toyah and rockers Dr & The Medics.

Retro fans will don their crimped wigs and leg warmers and dance the day and night away to hits like The Power of Love, Relax, Never Gonna Give You Up, Too Many Broken Hearts, Back To Life, I Think We're Alone Now, You'll Never Stop Me From Loving You and Making Your Mind Up.

The organisers of Let’s Rock Southampton! pride themselves in aiming their events at the whole family, with entertainment for everyone. Children can enjoy the “Let’s Rock! Playpen”, which includes tons of free stuff to keep the little ones occupied, including circus workshops with the Bigtopmania Circus, face painting, crafts, tricycles and the “Disco Shack”!

There is a funfair as well as children’s entertainers too. There will also be multiple bars, plus a wide range of quality food outlets selling food from around the world.

Let’s Rock! has been leading the way for quality, action?packed, family?friendly 80s music festivals since

2009. Don’t miss out on this chance for a retro blast with the very best of the 80s.
