Thousands turned up to Day One of one of the south’s biggest music festivals yesterday.

Two of the greatest names in music, Manic Street Preachers and Noel Gallagher, are headlining Victorious Festival this weekend.

The legendary band from Blackwood, Wales, and the former Oasis star and now hugely successful solo singer, lead a huge line-up of talent over 15 stages and tents at Castle Field, Southsea.

On the Castle Stage Radio One’s Annie Mac and Editors topped the bill yesterday before DJ Mark Ronson takes over the decks on today after sets by Wolfmother and Ash.

As well as some of the biggest names in music, there are also some of the most exciting new acts around.

Australia’s DMA’s and indie hip-hop rising star Rat Boy broke into their Reading and Leeds weekends to head to Southsea yesterday. Both return to The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth later in the year.
