THE critically acclaimed New Forest Chamber Choir will be performing a special concert at Beaulieu Abbey on Sunday 20th.

The group which includes women, men and teenagers from across the New Forest, Bournemouth and Poole takes to the stage fresh from winning Bournemouth Music festival 2016.

They will be performing with an incredible Chamber Orchestra – Wessex Sinfonietta

The programme starts with a candle lit procession with the Choir singing the awesome Will Todd’s piece The Call of Wisdom – originally commissioned for The National Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate The Diamond Jubilee Of Her Majesty The Queen at St Paul's Cathedral in 2012.

On the Abbey organ will be the Christopher Dowie, organist and Musical Director of Wimborne Minster and pianist for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

The ladies of the choir and some members of the New Forest Children’s Choir – winners of ‘BBC Children’s Choir of the Year 2010’ - will then sing John Rutter’s Angels’ Carol with a concert harpist Heather Wrighton.

The full Chamber Choir will then join with the strings section of the orchestra and harp to perform Will Todd’s piece A Celtic Blessing, followed by The Shepherd's Farewell.

The Wessex Sinfonietta will conclude the first half of the Concert with Corelli’s Christmas Concerto.

The second half of the programme is The Magnificat by John Rutter - a poetic outpouring of praise, joy and trust in God.

This performance will be conducted by Alison Russell-Hayward, Musical Director of the Choirs.
