FRANK Turner returns to his Hampshire roots next month to bring a 20 date headline UK tour to a triumphant close.

The celebrated artist from Winchester is to end his next string of dates at Portsmouth Guildhall on December 14.

The tour caps off another year of relentless gigging for Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls who, in 2016 alone, have played to over a quarter of a million people.

This year marks the record-breaking tenth consecutive year Frank Turner has performed at Reading & Leeds Festival, where he opened as special guest on the Main Stage.

They have partnered with Plus 1 for the Get Better Tour so that £1 from every ticket sale goes to War Child, a charity supporting children and families affected by conflict.

Turner said: “I'm very happy to be working with Plus 1 on this tour. £1 from every ticket goes to the good people at War Child, supporting children and families in communities affected by war all over the world. It feels right to use part of what I do to support such a good cause.”

Get Better is a track from Frank Turner’s 2015 album Positive Songs For Negative People, the singer-songwriter's sixth album and the follow up to Tape Deck Heart.

It has been an eventful decade for the Hampshire troubadour, who now resides in Holloway, North London. Turner released his debut album, Sleep is For The Week, in 2007 and has been on a stunning upward curve ever since. He is now one of the country’s most cherished songwriters, a man who plays the biggest venues in the land and whose records reach the higher echelons of the charts but who has never lost sight of his original MO: write, record, tour, repeat.
