HE has been described as “Arguably the clearest and most soothing male vocal in the world of British folk music” by Folk Radio UK.

Now Johnny Coppin will showcase his Christmas-themed album 'All on a Winter's Night' at The Spring in Havant on Saturday December 10.

The album includes original songs, such as the title track, evoking the magic of the run-up to Christmas, and Snow In The Street, a setting of a William Morris poem; classic English carols like God Rest You Gentlemen, and In The Bleak Midwinter (with the Gustav Holst tune "Cranham" named after the village and woods very near to where Johnny lives in Gloucestershire).

Johnny is a singer/songwriter who began his career as one of the founder members of the folk band Decameron. As a solo artist, Johnny has gone on to record over twelve albums, has performed at many festivals, concert halls, and venues large and small. He has also performed tributes to the writer Laurie Lee and also presents an Acoustic Music programme every Saturday on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Playing guitar and piano, his music is essentially British, always melodic and evocative, and includes traditional material among the original songs.

He is performing as a trio for the Christmas tour with Paul Burgess (ex John Kirkpatrick Band) and Dik Cadbury (ex Steve Hackett, and Decameron).

They are playing Spring Arts, Havant PO9 1BS on Saturday December 10 at 8pm Tickets: Tel. 023 9247 2700 www.thespring.co.uk

Johnny Coppin said: “It’s great to be playing at Spring Arts again with songs from the new Christmas album. We had such a good time performing there two years ago.”

It would be greatly appreciated if you could get a piece of editorial in to help publicise the show and also put into your what’s on listings.

Johnny is available to do either a phone interview or email Q and A, please let me know if you are interested in this.

A copy of the new album ‘All On A Winter’s Night’ is available if required.

Many thanks

Regards,

Maxine
