POP stars Olly Murs and Rita Ora are to play a major south coast festival this summer.

They complete a stunning line-up for the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth over the August bank holiday (25-27 August ).

Festival bosses have also booked cult indie rockers The Charlatans, who will join Madness for the spectacle’s all-new Friday opening party night taking place across Castle Field.

This is in addition to to the previously announced headliners Stereophonics, Elbow and Madness.

Frank Turner will be the weekend’s special guest, while other new artists announced include British Sea Power, Echobelly, Raye, Rationale, Tom Grennan, Toy, Lewis Watson, Banfi, Lily Rendle-Moore and Leo Stannard.

Victorious Festival boss Andy Marsh said he’s delighted with his line-up of big names, which takes the event to another level and puts the region firmly in the spotlight.

Organisers expect ticket sales to ‘go crazy’ now mega act Olly Murs – whose hits include Troublemaker and Dance With Me Tonight – has been signed.

This year’s bumper bill comes after Oasis songwriting legend Noel Gallagher and his band High Flying Birds, Manic Street Preachers and DJs Mark Ronson and Annie Mac performed at the 2016 Victorious.

Olly Murs is a singer/songwriter who needs no introduction. Having finished runner-up in the sixth series of The X Factor, Olly was propelled to heights of pop stardom and into the nation’s hearts with a string of hit singles and a double platinum selling debut album. Rightly renowned for a dynamic live show, his Victorious performance is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Joining Olly at the top of the bill is MOBO winning R&B singer Rita Ora. From coaching on The Voice UK to judging on The X Factor to acting in Hollywood movies not to mention a number one album, Rita has found time in her hectic schedule to bring her trademark R&B party to the main stage at Victorious. To say it will be unmissable is an understatement.

Joining Madness on the all-new Friday night Opening Party is legendary Mancunian powerhouse The Charlatans. With almost 30 years at the forefront of indie rock and 12 studio albums into a remarkable career, their set will be packed with stand up hits and the hope of some new material.
