IT’S BEEN a long time coming but after years of relentless touring South Yorkshire indie stars The Sherlocks have announced a date for their debut album.

Frontman Kiaran Crook, his brother and drummer Brandon, lead guitarist Josh Davidson and his brother and bassist Andy will release Live For The Moment on August 18 and will hear their chart position a week later while on stage for their third time at Reading and Leeds.

Fans can see them first at Isle of Wight festival in June where along with The Amazons, The Strypes and Wild Front they are one of the big names in the Big Top on Sunday night before Rod Stewart takes to the main stage.

The hard working lads, who have a huge following in the south, also revealed that long-time anthem Chasing Shadows is their next single.

Ardent supporters Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens played the new Gavin Monaghan produced version first on BBC 6 Music and Radio One.

Isle of Wight Festival is at Seaclose Park in Newport from June 8 to 11. For tickets, see isleofwightfestival.com
