THEY have been hailed as the world’s leading close harmony group.

The Puppini Sisters (Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins and Emma Smith) have been trend setters with their gorgeous close harmony singing style, the swing-style re-workings of modern pop songs and their impeccable retro-futuristic fashion sense.

With five albums under their waist-clinching belts the trio, who are headlining at The Concorde, Eastleigh on Thursday, count Prince Charles, The Manhattan Transfer and Michael Bublé among their fans.

The group was founded in 2004 by Marcella Puppini after she was inspired by the film The Triplets of Belleville by Sylvain Chomet and its Oscar nominated film soundtrack.

In 2005 they were signed by Universal Classics and Jazz. They released their first album Betcha Bottom Dollar in 2006, produced by the Oscar nominated Charest.

The album was labelled the fastest selling jazz album of all time when it hit number one in the UK Jazz Charts and subsequently went gold.

The Puppini Sisters quickly became musical pioneers of the neo burlesque/swing scene and continue to this day as mainstays of the underground performance art scene.

Since then, the group have collaborated with Michael Bublé and have appeared on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including The Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London, l’Olympia, Paris, The Great Hall of Conservatory, Moscow, The Roxy and The Greek, Los Angeles, B.B. King’s in New York, The Montreal Jazz Festival and Glastonbury Festival.

They have scooped gold and multi-platinum discs, and collaborated with Electro-Swing groups as well as traditional orchestras.

Their multi-platinum selling Jingle Bells collaboration with Michael Bublé paved the way for further recording collaborations, numerous worldwide TV appearances and Christmas Specials.
