AWARD-winning British singer, songwriter and guitarist Blair Dunlop plays Anvil Arts Centre in Basingstoke tonight. (Friday October 20)

The son of Ashley Hutchings - founding member of Fairport Convention & Albion Band, the 25-year-old, has already carved out quite a name for himself.

His debut album Blight & Blossom established him as an artist with a promising career ahead and led to him receiving both critical acclaim and the Horizon Award at the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

His follow-up album, 2014’s House of Jacks, lived up to that promise and cemented his place as one of Britain’s most exciting talents to come from the folk scene.

Blair has been hugely busy writing. Collaborating with his trusted writing partners of Dave Burn (AHAB), Gita Langley and Ed Harcourt, who will also be producing Blair’s next album, Blair has compiled a new collection of songs already being billed as the modern Heartbreaker. He has been locked in the studio with producer and collaborator Ed Harcourt and will release his new album in early 2018.

This month sees the first unveiling of this new material with ‘The 4 Walls Tour’ and a supplementary EP to support the tour featuring 3 new songs from the forthcoming album.
