SOUTHAMPTON rock band, Band of Skulls, will perform a special one-off concert at NST City on April 21 with The Space Between Collective, a new professional ensemble of local musicians formed to collaborate with leading rock and pop acts at NST City.

Audiences can expect everything from stripped-based acoustic intimacy to driving orchestral arrangements as the band performs songs from all four of their albums alongside music uniquely associated with the city.

Russ and Emma from the band explained: “We have toured the world on numerous occasions, but we always want to get back home to Southampton – the gig reflects our pride in the City.”

The Space Between Collective will perform alongside Band of Skulls, accompanying the band with brand new orchestral arrangements written especially for the gig which will offer new interpretations of the band’s hits.

Supporting Band of Skulls is UK singer-songwriter Kitty O’Neal. In 2017, Kitty released two Eps, A Home and OK, which both received radio play on BBC Introducing. She has previously supported household folk names Maz O’Connor and Meadowlark.

Kitty’s poignant songwriting together with her emotive performance style and band creates a captivating and vibrant live experience, filled with soulful melancholy and groove.

Southampton’s vinyl-only independent record shop Vinilo Record Store will perform a DJ set.

This performance launches NST’s inaugural programme of music – they are also looking for local bands to perform at the new monthly music night The Gateway Sessions, starting on May 19.
