Local Bands latest

A new venue for live music launches in Southampton tonight at the Mo’Club.

Usually associated with the madcap fun of the ‘Mo’Jive roller discos’ the club will now be hosting top live acts, the type that would easily fill The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth.

For those needing numbers that’s around 400 people in one venue which is a very tempting prospect for bands who are just about to make it.

These bands on the verge of becoming known by ‘everyone’ yet still giving the live music fan ‘one last chance’ of being there before the rest.

They are calling these nights ‘Mo’Live’ and the venture is a partnership between ‘The Joiners’ & Kai Harris’ ‘Advance Promotions’ as they point out: “For a few years now we’ve been looking for a medium sized venue in the city centre that can hold over 400 people and we’ve finally found somewhere that ticks all the boxes.”

Having a venue like this in the city will also mean less travelling for Southampton music fans that’ve had to get their fix of ‘larger’ live entertainment in either Portsmouth or Bournemouth.

But as always with new openings it needs support and with that in mind the first night features two great Southampton acts: Bury Tomorrow who will be playing their last live date in UK before US tour and Not Advised.

The doors open at 6pm and Mo’Club is along from Leisure World, opposite IKEA and just behind the Honda Garage.
