STEREOPHONICS make a rare south coast appearance when they begin some warm up dates for their upcoming UK tour at Portsmouth Guildhall on Sunday.

The Welsh rockers are renowned for their exceptional live performances, described as classic UK rock delivered with whisky vocals.

The band promise a showcase of some of their new material as well as some old favourites, expected to include smash hits Pick A Part That’s New, Dakota and Mr Writer. Stereophonics are lead vocalist and guitarist Kelly Jones, bassist and backing vocals from Richard Jones, drummer Javier Weyler, guitarist and backing vocalist Adam Zindani and touring member Tony Kirkham (keyboards).

The band’s arena tour is in March and they play the 32,000 Cardiff City Stadium as part of their sold out world tour in June.

The Portsmouth event, the first time Stereophonics have played the area since last summer’s Isle of Wight Festival, sold out within minutes of being announced.
