SOUTHAMPTON Festival of Music and Drama got under way this weekend with a host of musical treats at Thornden Hall.
The event, which as one of the country’s oldest festivals dates back to 1927, gives hundreds of budding performers the chance to take to the stage and show off their skills with the chance of winning dozens of cups on offer.
For all the results and more pictures from the weekend’s events, which included woodwind, vocal, guitar, bands, orchestra and percussion, see Friday’s Scene South.
