THE Road to Blissfields events will once again allow local acts to compete for a place at Blissfields Festival 2012.
Entries are now open for the contest, for a slot at the acclaimed Winchester festival on the weekend of June 29 to July 1.
Four acts, to be chosen in early February, will compete at six Road to Blissfields events around the south with the winner of each night bagging a coveted slot at the event, which was last year headlined by Winchester success story Frank Turner.
Performing last summer were Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Super Furry Animals, Stereo MCs and Mystery Jets.
The Winchester leg of Road to Blissfields takes place on April 7 at The Railway with bands competing in Southampton at The Joiners on May 18.
