SOME of the best folk artists around will grace the stage at Winchester Folk Club this season.
The night, at The Attic of The Railway in Winchester, kicks off with Kris Drever on February 21. He played a sell-out gig at the club last year with Lau and will be joined this time by Éamonn Coyne.
Later in the season, organisers will be welcoming high-energy international band The Urban Folk Quartet, new young trio Pilgrims’ Way, and BBC Horizon Award-winner Ewan McLennan. The season continues with Chris Sherburn & Denny Bartley, former members of much-loved Last Night’s Fun and known for their deadpan humour. Enjoy music from the acclaimed Fay Hield Trio and the season concludes with favourite local duo Black Peak.
Also new are the Singaround sessions.
These are free informal evenings for everyone to get together and sing on the first Tuesday of each month.
The idea is to create a friendly, relaxed environment so everyone has the opportunity to air their music without the pressure of a staged performance.
