THE son of a Hollywood icon and a British showbiz legend are part of the latest star-studded line up unveiled by The Concorde Club in Eastleigh.
Kyle Eastwood has his movie star dad Clint to thank for launching him into the world of music.
Away from his tough cowboy image the actor is an accomplished jazz pianist.
Kyle’s first memory of playing music was when Clint taught him to play the left hand bass line of Boogie Woogie, while he played the right hand solo over the top.
Being the son of one of the most famous men in the world gave Kyle immediate access backstage to jazz greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Buddy Rich, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan.
Jazz star Kyle, who has worked on many of his father’s film scores, is very much a jazz star in his own right.
And he will be returning to The Concorde on May 8 with his Smooth Jazz Super Group.
Veteran entertainer Des O’Connor, whose career spans more than 45 years, has rarely been off our TV screens.
For years he was the playful butt of Morecambe and Wise jokes about his singing. But Des has had a good musical track record, with 36 albums and four top ten singles.
The ultimate entertainer, he has appeared at the London Palladium more than 1,000 times.
And he has just made his West End musical debut in the hit rock ’n’ roll revival show Dreamboats and Petticoats.
The popular 79-year-old entertainer will be at The Concorde on April 27 with what promises to be a fun-packed show of laughter and music.
Jazz legends and octogenarians Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball will be headlining international jazz evenings on April 4 and May 3 respectively.
Soul legend Alexander O’Neal (March 23) and American jazz star Curtis Stigers (March 28) are also heading towards The Concorde.
And there is no shortage of pop nostalgia, with Gerry and The Pacemakers (February 24) Alvin Stardust (March 30), The Searchers (May 24), Eurovision Song Contest stars Brotherhood of Man (May 25) and Scottish ’60s legends The Marmalade (June 8) also lined up.
The Rubettes, whose Sugar Baby Love became a worldwide number one, are at The Concorde on June 29.
