CHERISHED Cockney rocker Chas Hodges will be giving it plenty of rabbit rabbit when he takes to the stage of The Concorde tonight.
The pianist and singer is one half of the legendary duo Chas & Dave who were together for more than 30 years.
The popular double act came to an end when Dave Peacock decided to hang up his bass guitar following the death of his wife Sue from lung cancer.
Last year Dave got together with Chas for a reunion tour but now he’s going solo again with his own band playing favourites including Rabbit, Gertcha, Ain’t No Pleasing You, Sideboard Song, Margate, London Girls and Snooker Loopy.
Before founding Chas & Dave, 68 year-old Chas had worked with the legendary independent record producer Joe Meek.
Chas then joined Albert Lee’s band Heads Hands & Feet before playing with Dave Peacock and Albert in Black Claw. He also played piano for a short-lived band called The Rockers, which featured Roy Wood, Phil Lynott and John Coghlan.
H Also this week, Salisbury eye surgeon Roger Humphry will be swapping scalpel for saxophone.
He will be hitting fundraising notes to help restore the sight of those living in one of the most impoverished corners of the world.
He is lining up with the Salisbury Big Band at The Concorde on Tuesday in A Swing Spectacular to boost the funds of Eyes for East Africa.
H ART school dropout, pensive introvert, grunge obsessive, fan of dressing up in brightly coloured wigs.
As Foe, 21-year-old, Hannah Clark is all of these things and more.
Foe’s debut album, Bad Dream Hotline, described as a fun house of funeral glamour, was released this week.
Turned on to Captain Beefheart, Nirvana and PJ Harvey by her music-loving dad when she was a teenager, Foe’s making riff-driven, 90s-inspired pop-rock with dark, dream-like lyrics.
A wonderfully twisted prospect live, catch her at The Joiners on Monday.
H HE launched his album to much acclaim at Southampton’s The Cellar in November.
Now Lowkey returns tonight for what is set to be another sold out show, this time featuring fellow UK rap legend Akala.
Kareem Dennis is a musician and political activist of English and Iraqi descent, better known by his stage name Lowkey.
He has played gigs including the Electric Proms, Glastonbury, T In The Park and Oxygen and collaborated to form a supergroup called Mongrel.
Kingslee “Akala” Daley has emerged from London’s hip hop underground and into the mainstream as one of the leaders of a new British artistic renaissance.
He is the winner of Best Hip Hop Arist at the MOBO awards.
