AS the final note resonated the frenzy of cheering made you realise Jessie J had achieved her aim – everyone felt a little more Alive.

During the past hour and a half we had been brought Awake, seen her Love of showmanship, felt her own brand of musical Instinct, the Values in life she holds dear and watched her seemingly endless Energy.

The Alive tour is a pentagonal personal journey for Jessie, five very important aspects of her life which she expressed through her music.

This was indeed her Party and her genuine joy as thousands of fans mimicked her lyrics or gestures proved it was not just about the money, money, money!

There were some poignant touches including video footage and photographs of her as a child which the crowd lapped up.

Between songs she spoke of her health struggles and how her fans were her inspiration and strength, as such this show was her way of expressing genuine gratitude.

Poppies worn in recognition of it being Remembrance Sunday was a touching effect and the crowd erupted as she dedicated Conquer the World as her own tribute to the fallen.

Although based around tracks from the Alive album this show marches to its own beat with stage effects and musicians completely in tune with Jessie, while lights are used with impressive effect for which Mike O’Driscoll should be commended.

Brimming with self confidence Jessie swaggered onto stage for Sexy Lady, leapt into action for Thunder and swept across the stage in LazorLight.

Vocal brilliance shone through as she reaffirmed the depth of her talent but the many different tones of her music, from ballads to rapping, showed she refused to be pigeon-holed.

This was a personal message with passion, power, and punch.

Jessie was brilliantly supported by four-man British band Lawson who packed their own particular punch with hits like Juliet. Standing in the Dark also had the crowd in full voice while drummer Adam Pitts wielded a mean pair of sticks.
