GUITAR based Scottish indie rock band Frightened Rabbit delivered an emotion charged performance to a venue full of enthusiastic fans at Southampton University.

Frabbit, a nickname used by an increasingly devoted fan base, kept the crowds attention throughout an electric set.

Great atmosphere, quality lyrics, accomplished musicians and catchy songs... and a feeling that lead singer, Scott Hutchison, seems like such a nice guy!

Following a US tour supporting American indie rock band The National and a summer of festival frolics this university outing is part of a tour that started in Newcastle on Bonfire Night and is set to end in style nearer to home with two blow-out shows at the O2 Academy Glasgow this weekend.

The band from Selkirk formed in 2003 and since the release of their debut album, Sing the Greys, in 2006, they have built a dedicated fan-base both in the UK and the US.

Southampton clearly has its fair share of fans as they sang and danced along to the growing list of often angst-ridden anthems like Old Old Fashioned the intimate Keep Yourself Warm and the bitter Nothing Like You.

The lyrically excellent and emotionally honest songs of the latest studio album Pedestrian Verse released in 2013 also received an evidently popular outing; Nitrous Gas, Oil slick and for an encore, The Woodpile.

A highlight was Scott performing a beautiful acoustic version of Floating in the Forth and a duet with lead singer of support band, Lanterns on the Lake.

The band were also supported by Paul Thomas Saunders.
