IMAGINE Dragons can be forgiven for underestimating their popularity when they decided to embark on their UK tour.

The American indie rock group from Las Vegas, who played last year's Isle of Wight Festival, found their sell out BIC audience crammed into one of the venue's smaller rooms, such was the demand for tickets.

It made for some head- craning from the audience, especially when lead singer Dan Reynolds left his podium spot to range across the stage and was lost from view. But none of this appeared to dampen the spirits of the crowd who greeted the band with loud cheers for their one hour twenty minute set.

The performance was always going to feature heavy on the Dragons' break through album of 2012, Night Visions.

Charting single Demons had the crowd rocking, as did Amsterdam and Bleeding Out.

Reynolds, ever the showman, showered the audience in water and threatened to perform a Christmas song, but it was an idle threat, thankfully.

The brilliant Cha-Ching, again a recent single release, was a strong favourite with the audience, building to a brilliant climax.

At just under the hour and a half mark, and after two support acts, the audience could be forgiven for wanting more from their heroes. Inevitably the band's break- through world wide single Radioactive would be their encore, bringing the whole room together in air- punching, body- swaying excitement.

One thing was for certain; when the Dragons return they will need a bigger auditorium for their fans.
