OFFERING a strong, soulful voice, Ella Henderson had the O2 Academy in silence last night as she belted out her tunes.

The blonde bombshell is the very meaning of a pop star as she reeled off song after song which audience members would remember from the radio, music channels and adverts.

She had a simple stage set up, which beautiful moody lighting and a band and backing singers to support her songs.

Like so many music acts I have seen at the O2 Academy, she opted for a stripped back minimal set to allow for her singing to be the audience's entertainment, rather than relying on costumes, stage props or projections.

Ella is likeable and a true girls' girl, which she displays as she dedicates the song, Mirror Man, to the person who loved himself more than anyone she'd ever met.

It was clearly a chance to show that this girl is tough, but can also capture people's hearts with Yours being one of those tracks that if you sat and studied the words, it could leave you feeling a little choked up.

But do I think we will see her returning to Bournemouth to another packed audience? I'm not so sure. While her voice is gorgeous, I'm not sure she's got the stage presence and catchy lyrics to stand the test of time.

But this was a one-night-only stop in Bournemouth on her tour and by the silence in the room, she evidently wowed the crowds.
