Peter Andre, BIC

The poster image and show title Come Swing With Me suggested we were in for an evening of unadulterated swing.

But what Peter Andre delivered - much to the delight of his fans, was a journey through his 23 year singing career featuring all the hits, some pop favourites with just some Rat Pack and Michael Buble-style classics.

In essence it contained all the best bits of his previous very diverse tours all tightly choreographed with impressive, often highly energetic, dance moves throughout.

The largely female audience at the packed Windsor Hall greeted him with screams as he opened with the Prince track 1999 before launching into a groovy, funky track Turn it Up from the new album.

The massive pop hit Happy was given a brilliantly uplifting outing too.

What followed was a real musical pot-pourri with soul, jazz, blues, reggae, swing, pop and R & B all in the mix.

A Rat Pack appetiser in the form of Sinatra's Come Fly With Me came to a temporary halt as the screams of appreciation took over before Peter tipped his hat to his famous 2004 I'm A Celebrity jungle outing with the song he penned there 'Insania'. His backing singer Royston gave us a fine rendition of The Communards It's a Brick House and fellow singer Wendy thrilled us with Rose Royce's Car Wash as Peter changed from his black to a white jacket and hat to take the dancing up several notches with some show highlights - Bobby Brown's My Prerogative and The Weekend's Can't Feel My Face.

A great swing version of his huge hit Mysterious Girl was dedicated to his dad 12,000 miles away as " he didn't like the original!".

Swing numbers Fly Me to the Moon and Ain't that a Kick in the Head sounded fabulous making full use of his fine band and brass section to be followed by his brilliant tribute to Michael Jackson- one of his greatest and quite evident inspirations. Again his versions of Got to Be Starting Something and Shake your Body were breath- taking. But his cover of Justin Bieber's Is it Too late to Say Sorry was a favourite too.

Of course the evening ended as it only could with a rousing performance of Mysterious Girl in its original form that we will all still be singing in the days ahead!
