One of the biggest names in drum and bass hit Southampton this weekend.

Sub Focus, also known as Nick Douwma, brought his popular mix of drum'n'bass and electro to a youthful upbeat clubbing crowd at Switch Nightclub in Above Bar Street who never stop raving to his ‘electric beat’s.

Sub Focus, who has been famous for tracks such as 'Turn Back Time' and 'Endorphins' that both reached the top 10 of the UK Single Chart, kept the 1,500 strong crowd strong all night using a plethora of guest vocalists including Apine, who sung one of his most extravagant tunes, Tidal Wave.

34 year old Douwma’s talent was discovered when a friend passed his demo CD onto Ram Records label boss, Andy C, with his first debut single, Down the Drain being released in 2003 but his passion and determination has grown through his euphoric sets.

20 year old Mollie Collins, another young and upcoming DNB talent followed the ‘electric beat’ king with fresh new ideas inspired by club legend Andy C. Mollie has gone from local club resident to a key name in DNB playing over 100 shows and 10 festivals across Europe.

Ryan Keary, Owner of Switch Southampton shared his thoughts saying: "Sub Focus always put on a great show for us, but I think with the new lasers and lighting within the club this felt like the best one yet."

Sub Focus is now seen as one of the leading lights of an ever growing drum and bass scene, closing his with his leading set hype mix of Close, which has revolutionised the club scene.
