The Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea THE four-piece band from Sheffield, fronted by lead singer Joe Carnall, captured the imagination of the Wedgewood Rooms audience in a mature manner that belies their years.
Playing a well balanced mix of favourites from their debut album Well, Well, Well and showcasing tracks from the forthcoming album These are the Facts Carnall held the crowd with his intoxicating energy and hunger.
Eager and determined to perform with passion the music that he and his three bandmates are obviously committed to, Milburn launched into Lo + Behold.
The performance of Well, Well Well got everybody dancing and they did not really stop.
Returning to the stage after the main set, Carnall claimed that this was the first encore of the tour and thanked the crowd for an excellent night.
Often compared with their good friends the Arctic Monkeys, Milburn set themselves apart with rounded performance.
The band enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it.
Keep an eye out for Milburn next time they are playing in the area.
They certainly know how to entertain.
