'Jedward' wows the crowds at Oceana

X Factor twins delight Southampton X Factor twins delight Southampton

THEY came, they sang and they did handstands.

Armed with their trademark three-inch high quiffs, tartan blazers, skinny jeans and prison white trainers, John and Edward Grimes descended on Southampton’s Oceana nightclub last night to the delight of screaming fans.

Around 100 people crammed the stage area to watch the dynamic duo perform songs including their classic rendition of Ghostbusters.

John and Edward, or Jedward as they have been dubbed, were welcomed on stage with a colourful array of posters, ear piercing screams and phone numbers written on hastily constructed cards.

The 18-year-old twins from Dublin punctuated their 20- minute show with some high energy jumping around about while belting out Ice Ice Baby, Rock DJ, Wham’s I’m Your Man and Britney’s Oops I did It Again.

The pair cancelled last month’s X-Factor Friday performance in Southampton in favour of an appearance on Irish TV’s Late Late Show Christmas Special.

Following the performance the pair held a meet and greet in the nightclub’s VIP lounge which saw dozens of young girls rush to queue up and meet them.

The Irish twins, who were mentored by Louis Walsh, are said to have been inundated with offers after leaving the X Factor when they lost out in a sing off to Olly Murs.

The twins became an overnight sensation on the TV talent contest during their appearances on the show, which included a bizarre rendition of Ghostbusters and a montage of Wham favourites I’m Your Man and Wham Rap.

Although not a fan, at least Shayne Ward has singing talent. (the reason he has been quiet is because he is in dispute with Simon Cowells record label at the moment because of the direction they are dictating for him)
This pair are a couple of morons fuelled by further moronic fools who fan the flames of their inane ramblings and monotone deliveries.
Feel sorry for all the truly talented young musicians who are struggling to get a break whilst these talentless drones are promoted across all media channels.

I don't understand why anyone would want to see this pair of idiots. Anyone who did go and see them must have a pretty sad life.... There are so many brilliant artists out there and yet they choose to see a couple of no hopers.

He should go the same way as Will Young, who doesn't seem to have struggled since cutting ties with Cowell. When you have people like Sting, Paul McCartney and Noddy Holder coming out against X Factor you know it's a load of crap.

You lot ought to listen to yourselves-Noddy Holder? Not a good singer but became a star as Slade were entertaining just like John and Edward. Both my teenage children saw them last night and described them as 'awesome' much better than on the tv. Did any of you see them? No thought not -much better just to knock two teenage boys who in my daughter's words were 'the nicest people she had ever met'. Give these kids a chance before condemning them
