Jedward or Dreadward?

HAVING never watched the duo perform I went to last night’s show with an open mind ready to take in the Jedward experience.

But after missing the opening to their first song not once, not twice, but thrice, it quickly became apparent that this was going to the longest 20 minutes of my life.

To their credit the female fans, who were punctuated with one or two uncomfortable looking blokes, absolutely loved the twins.

Every couple of minutes the duo flung themselves mid-song into the front of the crowd and the youngsters when crazy.

But there was no disguising their badly timed choreography, out of tune singing and one ill-advised handstand.

I couldn’t help but feel that if they spent more time perfecting their singing and less time on keeping their hair so upright they might have impressed judge Simon Cowell more.

The tone-deaf twins were entertaining and I can understand the appeal for youngsters, but it sounded more like bad karaoke to me.

If the twins are so ‘tone-deaf’ as you seem to point out, then why are you wasting your time posting two very different opinionatred blogs about them both. Have you ever thought that this is somebody’s career and talent, something that they feel positive and happy about, that you are slating? What have the boys ever personally done to you? Ever since the X-Factor the boys have only ever had bad publicity recieved for what? It was the show that did not give them an oppurtunity at the beginning, i doubt it was their choice to come across like they did. All they want to accomplish is their life long dream and to known. Funnily enough they are doing so. If they are happy singing and dancing, and they have fans then why does it bother you so much. At the end of the day its personal opinion if your John and Edwards fans, if its not your music or style then theres no need to get involved. It is clear that people enjoy them otherwise they wouldnt of stayed as long as they did beating other talented acts such as Lucie Jones. Nor would they have their own t- shirts at zavvi and doing performances around the country. I dont see any other acts from X-Factor doing that yet. No- one is perfect, even famous acts like Take That can mess up a dance routine every now and then yet that is looked past so why has the standards for John and Edward been set so high. If you didnt like the performance, or the boys. Simply don’t go and watch them again. I would like to see you enter X-Factor and get through to the live finals.
