HAVING never watched the duo perform I went to last night’s show with an open mind ready to take in the Jedward experience.
But after missing the opening to their first song not once, not twice, but thrice, it quickly became apparent that this was going to the longest 20 minutes of my life.
To their credit the female fans, who were punctuated with one or two uncomfortable looking blokes, absolutely loved the twins.
Every couple of minutes the duo flung themselves mid-song into the front of the crowd and the youngsters when crazy.
But there was no disguising their badly timed choreography, out of tune singing and one ill-advised handstand.
I couldn’t help but feel that if they spent more time perfecting their singing and less time on keeping their hair so upright they might have impressed judge Simon Cowell more.
The tone-deaf twins were entertaining and I can understand the appeal for youngsters, but it sounded more like bad karaoke to me.
