For years the Katie and Peter multi-million pound brand virtually stamped out all memory of Peter Andre the chart-topping idol.
But ear-piercing screams welcomed back the newly divorced and rejuvenated Mr Andre to Bournemouth Pavilion and his aptly-named Revelation Tour really was an eye-opener.
This was Peter Andre at his best. He combined strong vocals with high energy dance moves, finding time for swift, repeated costume changes too.
Flanked by dancers he joined in choreographed routines throughout, flirtatiously bumping and grinding to infectious new songs like Outta Control.
Self-penned songs from last year’s Revelations album and his new Love Songs collection gave a very personal insight into his crumbling relationship.
The most poignant was, however, his tribute to his step-son Harvey, Unconditional, performed as he glanced at projected images of his two children.
His melodic, expressive vocals and dance moves were perfectly matched to a Michael Jackson tribute, with Man in the Mirror a real highlight.
The encore was his early hit Mysterious Girl leaving the party-spirited, adoring crowd on a real high.
Peter Andre returns to play the BIC on April 2 followed by his stadium tour BIC date on December 12.
