If you love your guitars then you can do no better than popping out and picking this up. This is the dictionary definition of full-on. Aggressive, grimy, almost sinfully good to listen to.
The first three tracks are nothing short of phenomenal. Long instrumental openings accompanied by pained vocals give it all a sense of revolution, a fight against the manufactured rock dominating the airwaves.
Scandinavian by heart it is the new project of Norwegian multi-tasker Richard Myklebust (Stereo 21). A mish-mash of ideals and thought-streams at times you have a host of talented guitarists all doing their own thing. But far from sounding like a mess of noise, it just all slides into place.
Throw in members from the likes of Casiokids and The Low Frequency and you know it’s going to be good.
Lead single Talks Like A Weed King is a vicious assault on mainstream trash. Sounding like an Interpol track grabbed by the balls and wound up into incandescent rage, the hard-hitting riffs leave an imprint on the brain that will have you humming along for the rest of the day.
Neues is a musical masterpiece. The crescendo ending is a blockbuster in itself.
You Saw The Silver Line is another stomp across the musical landscape leaving chaos in its aftermath.
Forget your Earl Grey and your Berocca, if this does’t get you ready for the day ahead then absolutely nothing will.
