The Enid play the Brook

The Enid play the Brook The Enid play the Brook

THOSE masters of symphonic rock, The Enid, make a return visit to the Brook on Thursday.

Defining the music of The Enid is never easy, but Pink Floyd meets The Orb meets the Berlin Philharmonic was one critic’s attempt, while according to The Guardian, The Enid is “the only band on the planet to have successfully fused rock based music with the power, dynamics and scale of symphonic classical music.

The band’s founder Robert John Godfrey, acclaimed as “one of the greatest composers this country has ever produced” by Tommy Vance on BBC Radio 1, is delighted with the current band line-up, featuring himself (keyboards), Jason Ducker (guitar), Max Read (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Nick Willes (bass and percussion) and Dave Storey (drums and percussion).

Whatever the history, The Enid are very much of the here and now.
