FORMER talent show-winner, Will Young proved when he sang at the BIC, that his appeal is as strong now as it has always been.
With bright lights, live band and backing singers, this is the show that reminds you th`at dreams have come true thanks to reality TV.
Mr Young sang his classic hits, including the song that made him the winner of Pop Idol, way back in 2002, Evergreen, as well as ‘Leave Right Now’.
He is the best example of a well-known face keeping grounded after being thrust into the spotlight.
Will got the audience up to dance, made a light-hearted joke when a minor thing didn’t go to plan on stage and is earnest to the core in his whole demeanour and persona. Most importantly, he appears likeable and hasn't let fame go to his head.
He is energetic, keen and still enjoying being popular almost a decade after he started out. I predict that this man will continue to be a success for many years to come.
Part of the set, a front door on stage, which each musician walked through at the start and end of the show, became a feature of the concert, as did a yo-yo given to him by one of his fans in the front seats.
By the end of the show, the audience was upstanding for his final upbeat hit, Jealousy.
