THIS lady’s tour says it all. It’s entitled On A Mission, the name of her album and you can see why.
She is determined to be a success and have fun with it, which is clear to see for every member of the audience on one of the last stops of her tour.
Katy B is energetic and lively and she knows how to interact with people to make them feel included and ensures they want to be there.
But ultimately, there is nothing showy about her and so you feel as though you can relate to her, when she gives you the explanation behind some of her tunes.
She performs with backing singers and a live band, which is an unexpected surprise, considering she’s a dance music artist, as opposed to a traditional pop star.
Multi-coloured lights add a party-atmosphere, as does a screen showing flashing patterns and graduated-step staging means that everyone can see her.
The music, including hits such as Perfect Stranger and Lights On are catchy and easy to sing along with and as it’s a standing concert, people can dance when they want to and they do.
It’s a small intimate gig, rather than a packed-out affair, which means Katy talks to individual members of the audience, but a big scrum ensues when she throws some freebie merchandise into the crowd.
Just a year after the first single, Katy On A Mission, came out, Katy B shows no signs of slowing down and instead will carry on being the huge success she has already been in her first twelve months.
