Status Quo, Quofestive, BIC

WE were rockin’ all over the BIC on Tuesday night when the legends that are Status Quo took to the stage.

The audience, nicely warmed up by Kim Wilde and Roy Wood of Wizard fame, roared their approval when the mighty rockers appeared as part of their 11 arena date UK winter tour.

It was hit, after hit, after hit, as the band belted out classic Quo numbers including Caroline, Just Supposin’, Whatever You Want, In The Army Now, Down Down and of course, Rockin All Over the World.

But the old favourites were interspersed with new music from latest album Quid Pro Quo such as Two Way Traffic and Rock and Roll and You, which went down equally well with the ever loyal fans.

The rock legends have been making music for more than 35 years and it’s not hard to see why – they had the entire BIC in the palm of their hands and it took just a couple of overhead hand claps to get the audience eagerly joining in and belting out choruses.

Following an encore of Burning Bridges, the band were joined on stage by Kim Wilde and Roy Wood for a Christmas finale of Walking In A Winter Wonderland and Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Quo style.

The delighted audience will be rocking all the way to Christmas.

I was there last night with 3 of my freinds & we all agreed, a fantastic evening, probably the best yet, many thanks to all on stage & the BIC staff too :-)

Great night. Both "support acts" were excellent and Quo were their usual brilliant selves. Loved the inflatable guitar band at the back of the upper balcony - legendary!

Ruined by the xmas songs... bah Humbug, wanted Quo, not carols! Kim Wilde was a bit muted and sounded out of breath for the most part. Roy Wood seemed a bit out of place in comparison to the other two acts, and although his performance was not bad, it wasn't my cup of tea.

A fantastic concert from start to finish and we espeically loved the 'quo-festive' medley at the end complete with Kim and Roy!
Not sure I heard 'just supposin' as Quo have never played that as its actually the title of quo's 13th Album!! It was actually 'What your proposin' which was played!! Doh!

Saw the same concert at the O2 (I live in London) on Sunday night and agree it was fantastic. I hope I'm still that energetic when I'm 65! Quo rock!!

Whilst the Quo may still be a popular band, I think it's shameful that they flaunt their wealth by leaving their gold-plated Zimmer frames parked on double yellow lines outside the BIC.
