JAZZ, rock and sporting legends will be playing a major role as Eastleigh’s Concorde Club unveils its fixtures for the winter season.

The line-up includes ace boogie woogie pianist Ben Waters, veteran jazz band leader Chris Barber, top jazz singer Clare Teal and 60s soul legends Geno Washington and The Ram Jam Band.

Football fans will get a chance to meet one of the game’s most controversial characters – Paul Gascoigne – during an Evening with Gazza on Friday.

Completing a Concorde sporting double will be the Voice of Golf Peter Allis who will be teeing up a fund of stories on January 18.

Ben Waters is guaranteed to set the ivories on fire when he headlines an international jazz night on November 28.

He has become one of the most sought after piano players, and has played alongside Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Shakin’ Stevens, The Rolling Stones, Ray Davies and Jools Holland.

Taking centre stage on December 12 will be veteran band leader Chris Barber whose jazz career spans seven decades.

The youthful 82-year-old was responsible for the 60s blues-rock explosion which gave birth to the like of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

The January jazz line up also includes Southampton University Jazz Orchestra (9th) Scott Hamilton & Alan Barnes Band (16th) TJ Johnson Band (23rd) and Neville Dickie’s Rhythmakers (30th).

Liverpool 70s soul band The Real Thing return on November 30 with a live band to headline a Friday night special.

Singer Roy G Hemmings, the longest serving member of The Drifters, will be recreating magical Motown sounds on Friday, December 7. And one of Britain’s most popular jazz singers, Clare Teal, makes a welcome return on February 27.
