A FIRST taster event was held by a group hoping to bring about a return of the famous Girl Guide shows of the past in Southampton.
Dozens of talented youngsters gathered for the day, which included dancing, singing and stage make-up, ending in a performance.
The event, at Quilley School of Engineering in Eastleigh, was organised by fundraisers from Girlguiding Hampshire West, who are hoping to bring the variety show back in 2015.
A committee has been formed in a bid to raise £25,000 in order to start producing the show, expected to cost around £75,000.
Hundreds of girls took part in the shows, which took place every four years between 1984 and 2011.
