A SOUTHAMPTON-based conductor is urging singers across Hampshire to join her latest charity pop-up choir.
Fiona Funnell wants people from all singing backgrounds to join the choir that will sing at a mini festival at the Turner Sims concert hall on July 5.
There will be eight rehearsals and the first will be on May 12 at St Mark’s Church Hall, in Archers Road, Southampton.
The concert is in aid of WaterAid – helping the world’s poorest people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. Fiona explained why people should join. She said: “Forming a pop-up choir is such fun. I particularly enjoy welcoming people who have not sung for years and watching their frowns of concentration gradually turn to radiating pleasure and growing self-confidence.”
