X-FACTOR wannabees are being offered the chance to perfect their own audition songs and performances for free at a Southampton singing school.

As the nation watches brave hopefuls throwing themselves at the mercy of Mel B, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell every Saturday and Sunday night, Vocademy is offering budding stars the chance to perfect their vocal techniques in a bid to take on the judges in 2015.

Vocademy is a singing school for youngsters aged 7 to 18, based at Richard Tauton Sixth Form College in Hill Lane. It offers group singing lessons using modern and contemporary tunes to help young people fine-tune and perfect their performances as well as build their confidence.

The school’s manager Dionne Slater said:“Everyone's tuning into X-Factor at the moment - especially most of our students. We want to help people harness their talents in a fun and relaxed way. People are really different, their voices are different, their performance techniques are different and they need to pick a song that will suit them.”

She added: "Come along and you can practice your auditions on us. We won’t be as harsh on you as the X-Factor panel but we’ll help you be the best you can be - and all for free for the first lesson.”

Auditions are currently must- see TV as the ITV show, which has spawned stars such as Leona Lewis, One Direction and Alexandra Burke, looks for Britain's next superstar. But the 2015 auditions open soon so people who want to make a bid for the 2015 title need to start perfecting their song.

Dionne said: “We just love singing and Vocademy is about helping people learn to sing in a fun and relaxed setting to contemporary and cool tunes. The lessons are really great fun. We don’t mind how good or bad you think you are - if you’re serious about singing, we’ll help you be the best you can be. That goes for X-Factor auditions as well!”
