IT’S one of the country’s best loved TV shows.

Britain’s Got Talent is once again launching auditions as they hunt for the country’s most talented stars.

But this year the talent show will begin its search for its next Collabro (see below), Diversity or Susan Boyle at a Southampton pub.

Daily Echo:

Singers, dancers, magicians and dog trainers are expected to flock to The Saints in Millbrook on December 2 to audition for a chance to be on next year’s series.

The watering hole was chosen as the ideal location after its annual Millbrook’s Got Talent competition caught the attention of the show’s production company FremantleMedia UK.

The competition has been held at the pub for the past four years, attracting hundreds of performers who go head-to-head in front of thousands of onlookers.

It has showcased some of the county’s top singing sensations including teen Izzii Moulsdale from Totton, Harrison Fisher from Nursling who scooped the £1,000 top prize in 2011 aged just 14, and Shaun McGowan who was given a recording contract after coming second in the same year.

Landlord Eugene McManus, who runs the pub with his partner Dana Rosice, said: “The production team had seen our Millbrook’s Got Talent shows and various other events that have been put on here and they were really impressed.

“We’re very proud to be associated with the programme and it is testament to this venue and how far it has come in the last five years. There are many elements within the equation that make this venue a success but fundamentally it is the support from the community.

“We hope that people in every corner of the city will get behind this and put themselves forward in order to make sure that Britain sees how much talent emanates from Southampton.”

Executive producer Amelia Brown said: “Britain’s Got Talent has an amazing record of celebrating amazing talent and changing people’s lives – from Susan Boyle and Diversity through to Paul Potts, Ashleigh and Pudsey and this year’s winners Collabro.

“They all took a chance and applied for the show and that’s what we want the people to do this year.”
