ONE of Russia’s leading ballet companies is heading to Southampton next month to perform three much-loved ballets.

The Russian State Ballet and Orchestra of Siberia are returning to the UK to tour throughout the spring of 2015 and will be heading to the Mayflower Theatre.

Based in the icy-cold city of Krasnoyarsk, in central Siberia, the company will be performing Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Alexander Gorsky’s La Fille mal gardée between January 13 and 17.

Formed in 1981, the company comprises more than 40 dancers and 30 musicians and the 2015 tour will be their 13th visit to the UK.

The troupe will also be performing at The Anvil in Basingstoke where they will be showing La Fille mal gardée, Coppélia and Swan Lake from February 19 to 21.
