AN art gallery has welcomed two legends through its doors after unveiling new limited edition prints of Bob Dylan by Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood.

Dylan is the inaugural edition from the new Legends series by Wood, who has put down his guitar in favour of a paintbrush to create a portrait of one of his idols.

And the artwork is now available at the Westover Gallery in Bournemouth.

Daily Echo:

Wood has been creating art since he was a child, drawing experience from artists such as Rembrandt, Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso.

He said: “When I get intimate with my paintings, it’s a real good spiritual thing to get off my chest.

“Same as playing the instruments, it is a great release.

“I think people are just creative, and this can be expressed in a number of ways.

“Bob Dylan and David Bowie create both music and art.”

The subject matter of Wood’s work ranges from his fellow band members to people that he performed with or people that he admires.

Dylan was one of these people.

Gallery manager Ally Tanswell said: “Dylan is an aesthetic tribute from one denizen of rock royalty to another and, as such, every facet of this piece exudes quality.”

There are only 150 copies of the hand-signed limited edition piece available worldwide, so the gallery anticipates a high level of demand for the artwork.
