HE is one of the comedy circuit’s most prolific writers and tellers of jokes.

Barry Cryer will bring his latest show, Twitters & Titters to the Regent Centre in Christchurch next Friday at 7.30pm.

Barry is one of this country’s greatest comic writers, and |is the unchallenged king of the one-liners. He has appeared in TV and radio shows spanning over four decades, and is star of Radio 4’s top-rated comedy quiz show I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, which he has graced since 1972.

Barry has been in show business since 1956. During that time he has been in great demand writing gags for such notable comic greats as Frankie Howerd, Bruce Forsyth, The Two Ronnies, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson and Morecambe and Wise in their heyday.

In yet another farewell tour, Baz returns accompanied by his pianist Colin Sell, having been charged with persistent joking and asks for 20 other shows to be taken into consideration.

The audience are the judge and jury – so be merciful to the aged accused – he merely seeks to bring a ray of sunshine amid the dark clouds of life.

He’ll be enjoying himself – do join him at the Regent for an evening that will tickle your funny bone, put a smile on your face and chase those winter blues away!

“He’s like a very generous jukebox – you put a penny in and get ten songs back”
