BRITISH music icon Bryan Ferry will include dates at Portsmouth and Poole on his 20-date UK tour in support of his critically lauded new album, Avonmore.

The former Roxy Music frontman impressed with his performances around the world last year, including debut shows at both Glastonbury and Coachella, and has announced this year’s concerts will feature a set list of both Roxy Music and solo hits like Jealous Guy, Angel Eyes, Avalon, Slave to Love, Let’s Stick Together, Love Is the Drug and his cover of Bob Dylan’s Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall.

Bryan will appear at Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday June 5 and Light-house, Poole on Sunday,|June 7.

Ferry formed Roxy Music in 1970 and notched up their first hit Virginia Plain in 1972, a year before the singer embarked on a parallel solo career. The band split in 1976, reformed in 1979, split again in 1982, reconvened in 2001 and played sporadic tours for the next ten years before splitting (probably for good this time) in 2011.

Through it all Bryan Ferry maintained his successful solo career of which last year’s Avonmore is considered a high water mark.
