THE swashbuckling all-male musical The Pirates of Penzance comes to Theatre Royal Winchester this week.
Having triumphed in Australia, Sasha Regan’s award-winning and exquisitely funny production makes a welcome voyage home to the UK.
The tale of a child apprenticed to a band of tender-hearted, orphaned pirates was an immediate triumph for Gilbert and Sullivan and remains their most popular and successful work.
With its riotously inventive interpretation, audiences can expect to be astonished by the vocal accomplishment of the all-male cast as they execute the female and male roles to perfection.
The Pirates of Penzance is playing at Theatre Royal Winchester from today until Saturdayat 7.30pm, with matinees at 1.30pm on Thursday and 2.30pm on Saturday.
