We-Are-Z, who perform at Southampton Art House on Thursday, have announced the release of their second single.

Walkaway, out next Monday on Sputnik Records, has been described as off-kilter punk/funk fuelled with tribal drums, quirky electronic beats and surreal lyrics.

With electronic sounds reminiscent of Daft Punk or Scissor Sisters, it is a track that will have you bouncing off the walls.

Hailing from London and Paris, the band have been developing their sound in late night sessions at their hideaway in West London, just a stone’s throw from Olympic Studios.

Their first track Airbrush was released last year with much support from The Guardian, Amazing Radio, Q Magazine and many online magazines.

As well as having been compared to acts as diverse as Vampire Weekend, Devo and Franz Ferdinand, their influences include David Bowie, Serge Gainsborough, Talking Heads, Blur, The Clash and Static.

Gaby, Drew, Clement, Archie and Guillaume are all experienced musicians in their own right, having performed with the likes of Beyonce, The Waterboys and James Morrison.

They look set to make an impression on stages around the country this summer, with their exceptionally fun, quirky, flamboyant and expressive shows.
