Audiences in Eastleigh are in for a treat this autumn as circus group Pirates of the Carabina bring Flown to The Point.

The November show mixes comedy with chaos following a motley crew of circus folk trying to get a show up and running – and as the title suggests, much of it takes place above the ground, and even the musicians cannot escape.

It is part of an action-packed autumn season at the Hampshire theatre that features old favourites returning, big name comedy performances and family shows.

Acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant returns to The Point with Conceal | Reveal, marking his 20th year collaborating with lighting designer Michael Hulls with the pair developing a unique blend of light and dance that has been enjoyed around the world.

The show, co-commissioned by The Point, takes place on October 15 and 16 and features a solo performance from former Royal Ballet dancer Dana Fouras.

Those looking for laughs can see Patrick Kielty and his new show Help on October 3, with the Northern Irishman planning to use the audience to write a modern rulebook for love, life and happiness.

For more unconventional comedy, the award-winning troupe Kill the Beast bring He Had Hairy Hands to The Point on October 22, described as a 1970s detective werewolf mystery wrapped up in Hammer Horror.

In November The New Wolsey bring an adventure for teenagers and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities to the theatre with The Forest.

It follows daydreamers Thea and Robin as they are drawn into an unexpected journey of self-discovery in a special multi-sensory tale that immerses the audience in new sights, sounds, smells and sensations.

And as autumn rolls into winter The Point Youth Theatre will return with two family favourites, starting with Dr Doolittle on December 3 and followed by the classic French fairy tale Beauty and the Beast on December 18.

Meanwhile, Eastleigh Film Festival returns to the town on September 21 and includes a screening of 1980s classic Ghostbusters at the Hampshire Fire & Rescue headquarters in Leigh Road, while other pop-up cinemas will be dotted around Eastleigh.
