AN AWARD-winning British pianist will be performing a mixture of musical styles with her drummer husband for a range of Hampshire charities.

As part of the Southampton Mayor’s Appeal, there will be a night of music on offer at a city centre art gallery.

Carrasco Fiasco – led by Samantha and Ted Carrasco will be performing a mixture of jazz, classical and film and show tunes for Mayor Cllr Linda Norris’s chosen charities this evening.

Called Friday Night is Music Night the event is part of the Mayor’s plans to raise tens of thousands of pounds for three Hampshire charities – the Rose Road Association, the Saints Foundation and Southampton Air Cadets.

Cllr Norris also wants to help smaller Southampton charities and ten per cent of the pot will be used for a community chest which smaller organisations can request to go into a draw for.

The concert at Southampton City Art Gallery will feature two 45-minute sessions where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the art from 7pm.

Guests will then be seated at about 8.45pm for an hour-long concert.

Cllr Norris, and organiser of Music in the City festival said they were worth the price of the £15 ticket alone: “They have played at Music in the City every year since it started. They’re absolutely excellent.”
