THEIR latest album reached number two in the UK charts and they've just been nominated for four MOBO awards.

Now celebrated hip hop duo Krept and Konan will be playing a free concert for Southampton fans.

The gig, at Switch Southampton on October 22, is part of an epic nationwide music tour, the Budweiser Live Project.

The project aims to transport great British music talent across the UK in a bespoke tour bus, bringing unique free gigs to cities.

South London pair Krept and Konan's credentials are very impressive for an act still considered relatively new.

In the last four years, they’ve won two MOBOs and a BET Award, dropped one of the most memorable UK rap tracks of recent memory in Don’t Waste My Time, broken the world record for highest charting British release ever for an unsigned act, and signed to Virgin EMI to release their debut solo album The Long Way Home.

Collaborators on the release read like a blockbuster roll call of Transatlantic rap and pop VIPs. Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih and YG

bring verses from the States, whereas Ed Sheeran, Skepta and Emeli Sande bring the distinct British flavours, and there’s even an illustrious appearance from the legendary Jamaican reggae/ska vocalist Derrick Morgan.

Casyo 'Krept' Johnson and Karl 'Konan' Wilson, two school friends from Croydon, have gone from spitting bars in the schoolyard to sharing verses with Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa.
