EASTLEIGH Unwrapped is set to return this summer, filling the streets of the town with stunning aerial theatre, circus, interactive performance and live music.

The free festival, curated by The Point, offers a day of fun for the whole community on June 11.

This year the event turns four and organisers have selected some of the UK’s most innovative artists and companies to celebrate, putting together an exciting line-up of aerial, dance, and theatre.

The headline act from The Bullizini Family is breathtaking high-wire show Equilibrius. Performed 11 metres above audiences across Leigh Road Recreation Ground, Equilibrius will be played out between, upon and on top of two beautifully engineered towers as a rope walking duo share a dazzling display of aerial acrobatics to the backdrop of Eastleigh town centre.

2014 Eastleigh Unwrapped favourite Acrojou return with their new one-man show All at Sea. This interactive row-about is a glorious fusion of circus and dance, complete with a bespoke boat structure and mobile storm and designed for a street audience.

The programme also includes Ingenious storytelling and song to suit any summer day in Jessie and the Cloud Machine by The Barrowman and The Point Dance showcase with performances from Hampshire Youth Dance Company, Point Youth Dance Company, Retrospectif and Next Step.

Circus, aerial, dance fusion artists Joli Vyann will present two fun fuelled performances Don’t Drink and Dance, a wonderfully quirky take on the ‘boy meets girl’ scenario, and the World Premiere of Lance moi en l’air.

Kazzum’s fusion of dance and digital is a combination that will suit the whole family in Sprung, a pop-up performance with a difference.

The Point’s Supported Artists ZoieLogic Dance Theatre present their new work Ride; these four souls, three men and one machine, explore man and machine’s reliance on each other and themselves in this outdoor dance performance complete with high-impact professional stunt work and unpredictability.

In Bill and Bobby by Stopgap Dance Company, two friends pay tribute to the iconic dancing partnerships of the silver screen as a bath takes centre stage in this inclusive outdoor dance show for the whole family.

The festival runs from 11.30am – 5pm and will include live music throughout the day. from buskers, as well as roaming performances from street theatre company Street to the Point.

This year’s Eastleigh Unwrapped will also feature a ticketed evening event Of Riders and Running Horses presented by Still House and produced by Mayk. Directed by Dan Canham and Laura Dannequin, this sensational evening dance production will take place on The Swan Centre’s rooftop car park. as the sun sets in the midst of summer. Tickets are £8.
