AN exhibition entitled 'Oil, Ink & Water', including paintings and prints by Alderholt artists Diane Roberts and Virginia Whiting will celebrate the landscape and coast in their infinite colours and moods.

It runs at Christchurch Regent Centre from Saturday July 9- Friday July 29.

Diane creates and makes work in order to understand her own thoughts about nature and which engage with the environment in the creative process. Her pictures convey what has been for her an enchantment with art that has sustained her as an artist. Her work is in many prestigious collections including: Goldsmith Library, London, John Creasey Collection of Modern Art, The Imperial War Museum, Russell-Cotes Museum, Poole Museum and private collections around the world.

Virginia has painted since childhood. Initially working as a water colourist she now paints almost exclusively in oils using a painting knife. Her work is inspired by her emotional response to the natural world and is a celebration of colour, light and texture which she hopes will resonate with those who view her paintings. Her work is in many private collections both at home and abroad.

Virginia has won numerous awards over the years including: Society of Floral Painters Exhibition Chairman’s Trophy at Mottisfont Abbey in 2008; Fordingbridge Art Club awards at in 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2015 and Ringwood Art Society Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
