AUSTRALIAN band Tired Lion are on a UK Tour this month and play Southampton’s Joiners on Sunday July 10.

The tour follows the release of their new single ‘Not My Friends’ and their debut EP ‘Figurine' on Island Records.

The lairy four-piece, fronted by undeniably powerful Sophie Hopes are in the midst of a string of top festival slots including prestigious John Peel Stage at Glastonbury and Latitude Festival. Already a success in their homeland of Australia, the band are set to make waves over in Europe and beyond following in the footsteps of fellow Aussie Courtney Barnett. Best to catch their visceral energy in this intimate setting while you can!

“We're all about the raw honesty and keeping the guitars loud” said Sophie Hopes.

The reviews so far have been glowing:

“Packed with surges of undeniable energy in its grungy riffs... they channel a wild confidence that doesn’t back down”said NME

"Onslaught of crunchy riffs that are buoyed by enigmatic leader Sophie Hopes' scratchy voice" said Stereogum .

Tired Lion are a visceral life force, delivering it straight up with a storming confidence, over boisterous guitars.

Acting as the perfect ying to her yang, Sophie is joined by Matt Tanner, Ethan Darnell and Nick Vasey. They take no prisoners. Back home in Australia with killer singles ‘Suck’and ‘I Don’t Think You Like Me’,Tired Lion won triple j’s influential Unearthed Award, and owned the main stage at Splendour In The Grass, claiming the WAMI for Best Rock Song, as well as supporting The 1975 on their Australian tour.
